Coming soon...

This is to my one to three blog followers,

I forgot the usb cord to upload pics of our vacation, so when we return home on Saturday I will probably spend most of Sunday posting all the fun stuff we did.  Even the sad thing that happened to my little boy today.   Luke had his first somewhat serious injury today.  He has one gash on his lip and one above his lip with a little chunk of skin missing.  I wanted to take him to the ER because I thought it needed stitches, everyone else thought it didn't.  G-pa and Luke were just casually riding on the quad in their yard, Luke in front and their was this little ditch.  Well...the quad hit the ditch, Luke's face went forward and his face hit the spedometer hard.  I'm in the house and I hear crying and Matt's carrying Luke in and all I see is a hankie full of blood.  We clean him up and I see a cut a little deeper than I'm used to seeing and wanted to take him to ER right away.  I got a little queesy and lightheaded, I could never be a nurse...but we put some vit. E on it and now, 8 hours later the swelling has gone down and his cuts  now have beautiful scabs.  Don't worry I will post pics on this too.  At first Luke didn't want me to take a picture, but hey I need to document every thing that happens right?!?

A few days ago we all rode on the quads for hours and on much more rugged terrain and no injuries, a simple ride in the yard for 10 minutes and this happens.   It's true, most accidents happen close to home.

God is good and it could have been much worse.

So stay tuned, tons of pics coming up.  Happy New Year friends!

My poor Jeep

We bought my jeep about 4 years ago from this guy who had it when he lived in Michigan.

Well, because of the the snow and wet condtions my drivers' side floor began to rust.

Matt and Alex spent a few days working on my floor and replaced it. Of course the carpet is gone, it will eventually be replaced with Herculiner.

Jessica Day

Taco night for Jess went well and we had a blast. We love you Jess!

Our Photographer in Training

Luke found the camera and decided to take a few pics. I had no idea that he did this till I went to review a few pics from Jessica Day.

Teachers Conference 2008

I had the priviledge of "helping" Donna Rodriquez in her Tech seminars at the ACSI Conference this past Monday and Tuesday. This was her first year as a presenter and taught five hours and did an AWESOME job. We also spent the night at the Anaheim Hilton Monday night and had a blast just hanging out at the Garden Walk and enjoyed a great dinner. Thanks Donna for a fun two days and making me laugh so hard.

Date Night

It was nice to get out with my hubby and enjoy a nice night out with the Durhams.

Where has the time gone?

2 weeks

5 months

15 months

2 years old

I have been thinking about the growth I have seen in our Luke.

All the talks we have in the car to and from school and the grocery store, all the questions he has and just listening to his prayers.
Yes, he can be spastic as times, but he makes me laugh.
God has truly blessed us with an awesome son.

November 4, 2008 - our Luke is 7 today!

What's a party without a good light saber fight?

Where has the time gone? It's hard to believe our little Luke is 7 years old.
Last week I asked Luke where he wanted to eat dinner on his birthday, thinking he'll choose Rainforest Cafe, and to my surprise he said El Pollo Loco! So, the Mearigs and Tim met us at El Pollo Loco for Luke's birthday dinner. Afterwards they all came over for cheesecake, another Lukie request, and opening of gifts. Luke had a blast with his Storm Trooper helmet and all the various Batman and Star War toys. Thanks everyone for making Luke's day so special.

San Diego: part 1

San Diego's Gaslamp District and tour of the U.S.S Midway.

San Diego: part 2

Matt and I spent the weekend in San Diego's Gasplamp District. We had a blast walking up and down each lively block. We had a great dinner and just enjoyed being with each other. The hotel we stayed at was built in the 1800's and was Victorian style, and our bay window was the original window (so the little plaque said). We had a corner room with a balcony that overlooked the busy street.

On Sunday we visited the U.S.S Midway that is docked there in San Diego. The Midway is an aircraft carrier that once was part of the Gulf War. All I can say is amazing. It's literally a city.

Several cafeterias, barber shop, post office, laundry room and even a sick bay that has an operating room.
This carrier housed up to 4,500 men so it needed everything. We had an audio tour, so we really got to know the things that happened in a lot of the areas of the carrier.

What I really enjoyed were the dining areas for the officers, the captain and admiral's quarters, which included their own kitchen and dining area each with their own chef. They had mannequins throughout the carrier to recreate scenes, so in some of my pictures they almost look real. I had no idea how big a carrier really is, and I'm so glad Jodie told me about it and even game me an extra ticket left over from her trip there. Thanks Jodie.

Miramar Air Show 2008

It's always fun to enjoy a day watching an air show. The highlight of the day was the Blue Angels.
We arrived there around 9 a.m. and Luke kept asking when the Blue Angels were showing up, well...when the Blue Angels did show up, Luke decided to play with some blue string he found and found different ways of hanging it for the next hour. I have got a silly boy.
