Shoreline Graduation 2009

My favorite girl graduated from 8th grade. I taught this cutie in kindergarten as well and it's been a blessing watching her grow.

Upward Soccer 2009

Luke scored his first goal this past Saturday and walking around after wards with his fist up in the air...he was a "little" excited.

New old bike

My bike before was purple with Hawaiian print flowers and Luke's tag a long was blue.

Now it's metallic green with pin stripe decals and Luke's tag a long is black. Thanks babe for doing such a great job.

Birthday 2009

I had a great birthday that started off with a day at the beach with some awesome middle schoolers and the weather was perfect. Then to Seal Beach for dinner with my most precious boys.

Mom's Day 2009

Had such a great day. Beautiful flowers from my boys, rode our bikes to the beach and had lunch at Luigi's on Main Street.

Waiting...

It's so hard to wait. Especially when you have a calling to be somewhere else. We are still trying to figure out as to why we are here in the States, and I don't understand why we have not been given the green light to GO.

I have been making it a matter of prayer for a long time asking the Lord to help us make sense of all this... and silence...when are you going to speak to us Lord? On my walks I pray, I journal during my quiet time, and we have been really seeking His face...silence.

Then, He spoke and it could not have been any more clear...He spoke to me.
He spoke to me through this poem in our devotional. Now this was several months ago that this happened, but it happened again and this time to Matt with a different poem in this devotional.

I finally decided to blog and share this.

This is the poem in which I felt the Lord talking to ME.

“Waiting! Yes, patiently waiting!
Till next steps made plain shall be;
To hear, with the inner hearing,
The Voice that will call for me.

“Waiting! Yes, hopefully waiting!
With hope that need not grow dim;
The Master is pledged to guide me,
And my eyes are unto Him.

“Waiting! Expectantly waiting!
Perhaps it may be today

The gate to my future way.

I know, though I’ve waited long,
That, while He withholds His purpose,
His waiting cannot be wrong.

This poem continues to encourage me and I hope it brings some comfort to you in your time of waiting.

Easter 2009

My first project

So about a month ago I decided to do a little redecorating. I really like the weathered look in furniture and became inspired to change a few things in our little place, mid-life crisis or something.
So I got this side table at the swapmeet for only $15! Thanks Tim for hauling it for me!
So I bought some green paint and did a little sloppy painting, purposely, I'm going for the weathered look. I painted on Monday and let it dry overnight, and Tuesday I sanded it heavily in some spots to show the white underneath. In time I plan on buying knobs at Anthropologie.
I thought I did a pretty good job for never doing anything like this before.

Blessed beyond measure

What a great day I had today! I had a great PT conference today with Luke's teacher and she said that he has grown so much and has shown more maturity in his decisions. He also had a great report card as well. So we told him that we will take him out to dinner, wherever he wanted. He chose El Pollo Loco, and then a Butterfinger Twister to top it off. He had such a great time.

I sure love my little guy and his love for life. His laughter can turn a bad day into a good day, his words are so sweet and loving to me and I love his sensitive spirit.

He has two "friends" in his class that he always wants to be with and he tells me that one day they're his friends and the next day they'll tell him "Luke, go find new friends". When he told me that my heart just ached for him. Yet, my son is so forgiving. He loves to draw, and he is always drawing Transformers and coloring them and cutting them out. He'll spend a good hour making several of them for these two "friends".

Now for that man of mine. I absolutely hate emptying the dishwasher, and he always does it, he makes sure Luke gets his bath, and has devotions with him.

I am blessed to have two boys in my life to take care of me and to love on me.
Thank you Lord for my boys.

Natural, Pure, Essential

I've been reading The Organic God by Margaret Feinberg and I love how she expresses who God is. When you hear organic you think of food without the aid of chemicals and pesticides, just as our "relationship with Christ should be simple, healthful and close to nature." And that is the type of relationship I want with Him.

She also states that "God seems FAR more concerned with our TRANSFORMATION than mere INFORMATION." I can read the Bible all day long and know every story, but we need to apply it and let it work through us...there needs to be change that's evident.

Just thought I'd share that with you. I highly recommend this book, it will help you rediscover who God is.
